We arrived at 11am on Saturday in August expecting to have to Q for ages but there were no queues for anything and it was excellent no matter whether you are 1 or 100 years old you would enjoy it.

Officially, according to the DVLA book my truck is a class 7 and my friend who is an MOT tester wouldn't test it as it was class 7. However my other local MOT centre (who incidentally do the local Police force vehicles) was happy to test it as a class 4. No matter it still failed!!! Nothing major - no welding just Chris Evans type things (small and annnoying).

This is an absolute discgrace and everyone in the Labour Party should be ashamed of themselves. The hospital saved the life of Sir. Stirling Moss in 1968 after a motoring accident and more recently Sir. Patrick Moore from Salmonella Poisoning. It has a large catchement area with several sporting venues close by plus thousands of children at School. Please if you can in any way support this campaign please do. Peace and Love - Kindoki

In mine you sit over the engine and front wheels much like a conventional HGV. Only about 2700 vehicles like mine were made, some of which were then convereted into ambulances (about 800), Covert surviellance vehicles (VAMPIRES!)(9-18), and Radio Trucks like mine (about 100).

It's MOT runs out soon so I took it along to the local testing station and they refused to test it saying it was a Class VII vehicale as the laden weight exceeds 3.5T. I tried to point out that it was a dual purpose (DP) Class IV vehicle with an unladen weight of less than 2040KG. It was MOT'd as a dual purpose class IV last year. So we had to get the manual out and look up the definition of Dual Purpose vehicle...

Unfortunately there is a sub parargraph which stipulates that teh vehicle must have rear windows on each side and I only have a window on the passenger side at the.... so officially :

If you have a Land Rover 101 / Forward Control with a Radio body it should be tested as a Class VII vehicle. I would assume that the Ambulances and Vampires are also in Class VII due to their unladen weight and having no side windows...

The good news is that at Class VII test is very similar to a Class IV but there are far fewer places able to offer it.

If you can enlighten me further on the above please let me know.

Peace and Love

In Brazil cars have been running on a form of fuel derived from sugar cane. Recently a Uk company AB foods has decided it will invest in research of trying to obtain bio-ethanol from Sugar Beet. The is a great start but needs to be supported by governments with tax breaks and investment. Why is there no tax on aviation fuel? THe true cost of lfying is not being paid by today's consumer but will ultimately be paid for by future generations through increased insruance and power costs.

Solar
Why can't the deserts be converted to giant solar farms? I appreciate that a lot of energy is dissipated when it is transported but it is free energy!!

To be honest though the real source of the problem is that we are using too much energy. Air conditiong is a prime example of where this increase in energy usage is going and also provides an excellent example in the loop of global warming. Why is it that the two related problems of glabal warming and resource consumption seem to be treated as one issue. There is too much foncus on the very narrow topic of carbon emissions and not enough discssion of the wider issues.

For example, we are encouraged to insulate our homes but no-one is being told of the dangers to personal health of doing so. The rates of cancer, asthma and eczema are on the rise and it has been argued that this is partly due to us living in 'closed spaces'. We rely on heating rather than clothing, we block up chimneys, close windows, insulate walls, and lofts all in the name of reducing our emissions, but what about the human problems? Reducing carbon emissions is a quick fix that doesn't get tot he root of the problem - over consumption.

Well, I took the name from Wikipedia. It means Peace in the more holisitc sense of being in peace or harmony with your surroundings. The word comes from the Lakes Region of Africa. However unfortunately it has been mixed up with the word Kendoki which is world of sprits and has more recently been used by the media to describe black magic or any african ritual they don't understand. If the spirits are at ease (Kendoki) you can have Kindoki (peace). I don't believe ine spirits or demons or witchcraft etc and usually read Buddhist literature. However the word Kindoki summarises the more holistic approach we need to Peace.

I woke up this morning, had a smoke and a cup of tea and here we are back to stage one. I am hoping that I will not pass the smoking gene onto future siblings as it has been shown that a trigger i.e. smoking can cause changes in the genetic code of oyur offspring i.e. making them more susceptible to smoking. This new branch of genetics is called epigenetics and is not widely discussed as it challenges widely held views on the Darwinian Theory of Evolution. More on this to follow.

Everynight before going to bed it's 'right tomorrow you are going to make a new start: give up smoking, go for a run in the morninges, eat a proper breakfast, do the chores everyday etc etc', yet every morning I wake up and can't get out of bed. When I finally manage it all I want is a spliff and a cup of tea and until these have worked their way round my body to teh grey matter I am in a foul mood. The reset of the day is spent subconsciously breaking everypromise I'd made earlier mmm... will power.

I think once they ban smoking in England that I will give up... but having said that there is now quite a community of smokers standing outside pubs in Ireland. There must be a market for dedicated 'smoking cafes'

Well one of those promises was to start blogging. I've had about three blog sites before, posted once and then that's it can't be bothered anymore or move onto the next project. Let's see if Ibreak this promise to myself.

I have a pain just about my left hip to the front and side - anyone know what it might be? I have a feeling it might be drink related as I like a drop/bottle of JD now and again and again and again...
