There are plans in place to close the A & E and Maternity departments at Chichester Hospital. This is an absolute discgrace and everyone in the Labour Party should be ashamed of themselves. The hospital saved the life of Sir. Stirling Moss in 1968 after a motoring accident and more recently Sir. Patrick Moore from Salmonella Poisoning. It has a large catchement area with several sporting venues close by plus thousands of children at School. Please if you can in any way support this campaign please do. Peace and Love - Kindoki

I have an ex-military Land Rover but it's not your average Land Rover. In mine you sit over the engine and front wheels much like a conventional HGV. Only about 2700 vehicles like mine were made, some of which were then convereted into ambulances (about 800), Covert surviellance vehicles (VAMPIRES!)(9-18), and Radio Trucks like mine (about 100).

It's MOT runs out soon so I took it along to the local testing station and they refused to test it saying it was a Class VII vehicale as the laden weight exceeds 3.5T. I tried to point out that it was a dual purpose (DP) Class IV vehicle with an unladen weight of less than 2040KG. It was MOT'd as a dual purpose class IV last year. So we had to get the manual out and look up the definition of Dual Purpose vehicle...

Unfortunately there is a sub parargraph which stipulates that teh vehicle must have rear windows on each side and I only have a window on the passenger side at the.... so officially :

If you have a Land Rover 101 / Forward Control with a Radio body it should be tested as a Class VII vehicle. I would assume that the Ambulances and Vampires are also in Class VII due to their unladen weight and having no side windows...

The good news is that at Class VII test is very similar to a Class IV but there are far fewer places able to offer it.

If you can enlighten me further on the above please let me know.
